How to improve UV ink adhesion on glass and metal surfaces

UV photocurable ink under the irradiation of an external UV light source will cause photopolymerization or crosslinking reaction, prompting the liquid ink to quickly transform into a solid polymer. UV photocurable ink due to its polymerization speed, environmental friendly, no solvent emission, high production efficiency, excellent ink performance and so on. In recent years, it has developed rapidly and is widely used in advertising inkjet, decoration, packaging inkjet, electronics and other fields. In practical applications, common problems are incomplete curing of UV ink and poor adhesion to glass and metal.

1. UV ink curing is not completely related to the curing speed of UV ink. For yellow, magenta, blue, black four-color UV ink, the general curing speed of black ink is the slowest. In addition to controlling the PH value of the moistening solution, the characteristics of the ink itself are also very important, the ink used must meet the performance requirements of the ink roller, and must match the ultraviolet wavelength of the UV lamp.

2. The adhesion of UV ink itself is not enough to cause the ink film to be fixed. Improper selection or excessive addition of UV ink curing agent will also appear the phenomenon of UV ink fixation, in the selection of UV ink curing agent to consider the nature of the ink and control the amount of addition, in order to avoid the phenomenon of ink and substrate bonding is not strong.

3. ChangFu® OMA-4 UV ink adhesion accelerator can improve the above problems, improve the curing speed of UV ink and improve the adhesion to glass and metal surfaces. Under normal circumstances, adding 3%-5% ChangFu® OMA-4 UV inkjet adhesion accelerator can promote curing and improve adhesion.
